Preferences

The Preferences section of your user settings controls how the portal looks and behaves for you.

A toggle that controls where you land when you open the portal:

  • On — you’re taken straight to the workspace you used last.
  • Off — you start on the Workspaces hub.

Choose the portal’s appearance:

  • Dark — dark appearance.
  • Light — light appearance.
  • System — follow your operating system’s setting.

How dates are written throughout the portal. Each explicit option previews itself with today’s date, so you can see the effect before choosing:

  • System default — follow your browser’s locale.
  • MM/DD/YYYY
  • DD/MM/YYYY
  • YYYY-MM-DD
  • DD. MM. YYYY

The grouping and decimal separators used for numbers, listed by example:

  • System default — follow your browser’s locale.
  • 1,234.56 — comma groups, dot decimal.
  • 1.234,56 — dot groups, comma decimal.
  • 1 234,56 — space groups, comma decimal.

The timezone used to display dates and chart time axes:

  • System — your detected timezone, shown in brackets next to the option.
  • UTC
  • Any other IANA timezone from the list.

These preferences are per browser, not per account — they’re kept in the browser’s local storage rather than on your Metrana account, so signing in from a different machine starts from the defaults.
